BOXARR invited to participate in the CityForum 'Intelligent Defence Series' round table
Re-imagining defence acquisition and rethinking power projection mean securing the UK national interest. 'Intelligent Defence - Maximising Smart Power and Public Value' is a programme of round tables, analytical papers and conclaves arranged by Cityforum in association with the Development, Concepts and Doctrine Centre of MOD
This round table is the first of two top level full day round tables which bookend four smaller conclave discussions. The intention of the project is to provide a report to ministers and officials who will be engaged in a Corporate Social Responsibility that falls in a particularly difficult period for those that have to engage in its navigation.
The ambition of these events is to establish what is the UK national interest and suggest the strategy and capability required in circumstances where traditional ‘steady as she goes incrementalism’ is unlikely to provide the nation with the security it requires. Intelligent defence and the deployment of smart power are achievable, but without major changes they will not happen. Without a credible stance, any definition of smart power and the role of hard power within it will be impossible to determine.
Drawing on our experience in supporting major transformational projects and programmes for defence forces across the UK, US, and Australia; as well as being a key enabler for leading aerospace & defence industry organisations; BOXARR will be joining the round table discussion along with senior leadership from the UK MoD and the UK Defence Industry. BOXARR will be discussing the critical importance of effectively managing inter-dependency and propagated-effect in order to bring coherence to the UK's defence landscape; from value-chain, to operations, to force projection and sustainment.
In this round table the focus will lie on following question.
What do we mean by innovation and where and how should we prioritise for success in an information environment?
Business, innovation and the acquisition process - how can defence and the nation gain the most benefit.
Thinking through the achievement and maintenance of information advantage - what do we actually need to do?
Increasing effect in conflict - in and beyond the grey zone.
Further information will be posted on the CityForum website in the coming weeks. This will be an important and informative event, so don't miss out as there are limited places available.
